What We Do
“Generosity Impacting Generations”
Purpose
The Cale Community Foundation will serve as the financial development organization that will strengthen the financial health of Camp Cale, a non-profit institution. The foundation was created exclusively for charitable purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The Cale Community Foundation will provide structure and accountability so Camp Cale can continue its pursuit to build community in Northeast North Carolina.
Our Mission
The mission of the Foundation is to:
- educate the general public about the mission and activities of Camp Cale
- recruit continuing support for Camp Cale
- provide scholarships for campers
- and partner with the community to help Camp Cale grow to its fullest potential.
Our Vision
The vision of the Foundation is to help Camp Cale grow to become a premiere camp and conference center on the East Coast of the United States.
Present:
The Cale Community Foundation serves as the dedicated fundraising arm of Camp Cale, focused on enhancing the camp’s infrastructure and overall quality. The Foundation devotes 100% of its efforts to securing financial stability for Camp Cale.
Led by a team of Officers and Board Members, the Foundation raises funds to support the construction of new facilities—such as a dining hall, gymnasium, and family-style housing—allowing Camp Cale to expand the services it offers on campus. Additionally, the Foundation generates funds for camper scholarships, helping make summer camp accessible to children who might not otherwise be able to attend.
The Foundation also supports the development of new programs and activities that promote leadership training, teamwork, and personal growth—further enriching the Camp Cale experience.
Future:
The Cale Community Foundation will raise funds by forming partnerships with individuals and businesses that share Camp Cale’s mission of building community in Northeast North Carolina. Fundraising efforts may include in-person events, online campaigns, and mailings—all designed to generate vital support for Camp Cale.
By taking on the fundraising responsibilities, the Foundation will allow Camp Cale’s staff to focus on delivering a safe, engaging, and effective program that adapts to the evolving standards of residential camping. The Foundation will also help keep camp costs lower than comparable programs—an essential step in ensuring that Camp Cale remains accessible to campers from all backgrounds, offering enriching experiences for everyone.
